Dog face

If you look with your creative mind in the center or just right of center you may see the image of a dog's head or face. Looks like a Great Dane to me. This formation isn't a rock formation but more of a landscape formation. Nevertheless I believe it was manipulate by man. It's not entirely a natural occurrence.

New books at Amazon

I have added two new books to my blog that are for sale at Amazon.com. Shattered Innocence and The Lost Symbol. The former is an LDS book that tells a mother's feelings when her daughter asks about her grandfather who was a serial killer. The latter is Dan Brown's latest novel and takes place in Washington DC. Dan Brown is the author of The DaVinci Code.

This is another picture of Sternface which is in the north fork of the Duchesne River. I have added my contact information to this photo. Sternface is still one of my most interesting rock art formation photos.

Laguna Beach

I took this photo in June when I was in California for a family reunion. I believe it turned out great. I added my contact information in an effort to sell enlargements. I will gladly do a custom order to just about any size you would like. This makes a great landscape or beach photo.

Wave action

This was taken at Laguna Beach in California. I have some other pictures that show the scenic beauty of Laguna Beach which I can enlarge for purchase. Please contact me for more information or to order. You can email me at bookcliff48@yahoo.com.

Dragonfly

This is only a sample of the many pictures I took of this dragonfly. This dragonfly hung around feeding on this yucca plant for about an hour. I took 25 pictures of it. This is not the best one. I am in the process of selling pictures at a farmer market and developing a website. I have prepared some pictures which I can use as business cards which has all of my contact information including email address as well as my blog site address. Just contact me for more information about ordering enlargements. Sternface has been my most popular image.

Thanks.

Two items of interest.

In this photograph I believe we have two items of interest. One is the circle with a rock formation inside of it. The other item of interest is the grey rock to the left and down from the circle rock. Any time that there is a rock that is a different color than all the other rocks in the area that is an item of interest. There is a significant reason that the rock is a different color and it has little or nothing to do with natural erosion. I also believe that some rocks are anthropomorphic. By that I mean that they may represent some life form.

Interesting Rock Art Formation

Again I have no idea what this is but it sure looks interesting. Why does it stand out instead of being eroded? It kind of looks like there may be two objects here. It looks to me like one may be standing behind another one. It even looks like a rock may have been set up on top intentionally. This rock art formation also has the shape of a robe.

Midget Man

In this rock art formation I can see a little midget man. I'm sure I have seen this image before but I don't know what it represents and I wish someone would tell me. I'm thinking it may be Greek or European.

Monkey Face

I call this rock art formation monkey face. That's the first impression I had of what it looked like. I actually have a better picture of it but for now decided to upload this one. I hope to get out shortly and take a ton of pictures that will give me many images to choose from to post. I haven't been out in quite a while so I have to use my reserve supply. I will have a new inventory before long. Probably this month.

Rexburg Temple

The new temple at Rexburg, Idaho. Rexburg is where BYU Idaho is located. I like this view with the rows of trees.

Angel Moroni

A view of Angel Moroni. The angel flying through the midst of heaven with the everlasting gospel. This statue sits atop the Rexburg Temple as it does many temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Silly Shy St. Anthony Squirrel

This is the best picture I could get of this little guy. I took it just before I left the park in St. Anthony, Idaho where I furnished a couple of friends transportation to their family reunion in St. Anthony. He was a bit shy and a little elusive but it did come out pretty good.

Orange Marigold?

As I said I'm not very well with my flowers but I do believe this is a marigold and of course it is orange. It is also on the temple grounds of the Rexburg LDS Temple.

Yellow Flowers

I don't know my flowers very well but I believe these are marigolds. These are also on the temple grounds of the Rexburg Temple. It was a beautiful day to visit the temple and take pictures.

Flowers

Looks like it's been over a month since I did any new posts to this blog. I just haven't been out taking any new pictures of any rock art or rock art formations. So I am adding some pictures of flowers. I took these last year in Idaho. They are on the temple grounds of the new Rexburg LDS Temple. Since this is March which is spring and hence associated with flowers it seems appropriate anyway. But I soon hope to get out and take some more rock art pictures to post and stay with the theme of the blog.

North Fork Log

A view of the North Fork of the Duchesne River in Utah. I like the log in this picture. It seems to stand out as if in 3-D. There seems to be something about logs in rivers that stand out.

Another view with one more waterfall.

Another view of that waterfall. From this angle we can see another small waterfall just to the side of the first one.

Snake River water fall

I took this picture in the summer of 2008. It's a cute little waterfall on the Snake River in Idaho Falls. I just love that part of the Snake River and take a ton of pictures whenever I pass by. This is just one of many shots I took of the various waterfalls at that location.

Entrada Formation

This is an example of the Entrada Formation. The Entrada Formation is part of the San Rafael Group. This is the formation that makes up the cute goblins in Goblin Valley Stake Park. The Entrada Formation is also exposed in the western part of Emery County in Utah near the Molen Reef and here on the southern exposure of Cedar Mountain. If you use your imagination you may see some goblins in this photo but nothing really obvious stands out to me. I do find it interesting. I do see a couple of shadows. Could there be a cave there?

Curtis Point

Here is another view of Curtis Point. I posted a couple of views earlier. This one is more of a straight on view. Note the pile of rocks on top of the formation. I can also see a couple of circles that I find interesting. This is a good close up view of this rock art formation.
