Arch

This is a very interesting arch located in Millard Canyon just inside Canyonlands. It is probably less that a mile past the ranger station. I recommend a trip just to see Millard Canyon. Pictures don't do it justice. Especially if it is a black and white photo.

Sternface. A stern stoneface.

I started off this blog with a closeup of Sternface. Here is a view of his environment. Looks rather majestic with his view of all below and around him. Kind of an ancient Mt. Rushmore. Looks like he may even have his scary Halloween face on.

Aztec Pyramid

Here is another picture of a rock formation that looks like a pyramid. In fact a friend of mine calls it an Aztec pyramid. It certainly looks to me like it could be what he says it is. This is similar to another picture I posted of another rock formation that looks very similar to this one. Check the post of July 25, 2008. To go to that post scroll down to July on the right side and click on it or go all the way to the bottom and click on older posts until you get to July 25.

Pyramid? Mound? Hill?

I'll let you decide. Natural or built by man? It sure stands out from it's surroundings. It also sits in a location where it can be seem for miles. It is a conveniently suited location for a pilgrimmage. It's a very prominent feature of the area.

Elephant

I believe this to be an elephant's trunk. I do waver though because I have gone back and forth between an elephant's trunk and a snail. Either way it is another piece of rock art by some ancient culture.
